A:  Your physician will decide if you are eligible for SpineAssist assisted surgery. Each case is considered separately, taking into account different factors such as obesity and osteoporosis as well as other criteria that may affect your eligibility.
  • Q:  Why is accuracy so important in spinal surgery?
A:  Most spinal procedures are performed close to the nerve roots and spinal cord, where every millimeter counts. This, together with other biomechanical considerations is why accuracy and precision are of the utmost importance.
  • Q:  Does the SpineAssist Device perform the actual surgery?
A:  No, a simple analogy would be similar to that of taking a taxicab. Your give the driver the address of your destination and the driver in turn will notify you of your arrival. This same technology applies to the SpineAssist. Once the doctor has planned his procedure, the location and placement of the implants he will be using, he will then instruct the system to a specific location. In no way does the SpineAssist replace the expertise of the surgeon or perform the actual surgery for him.
